Im pretty sure that hes talking about "the one that got away".... he talks about how basically she meant the world to him but he never actually got around to being with her. It seems like he felt like he couldn't give her what she needed so instead she should move on, even though it tears him up inside he will sit back and watch her try to be content or get what she wants. however it seems that he will always be there waiting and watching for her fall in order to catch her. its from this interpretation that is why i love this song, its just exactly the situation im in.

@Berflack Literally registered just to say i think it's definitely "fuck" and possibly "hand" not head, makes more sense. Only 6 years too late.

@damon10995 personally head makes a lot more sense (as in "fuck with your head" or "fucked in the head"). Would only be "hand" if talking about masturbation ... which given the title could be apt!
