I think this song is about wanting to be someone in charge. When you're younger you have this unhealthy desire to be top dog, where you can do anything without feelings of guilt or regret

Now it's the Miligram device all over again.

This should be Milgram. Which is basically, in laymen's terms, an epxeriment that proves that on average 90% of all people will obey an authoritative leader without question even if the leader's orders are profoundly against the obeyer's conscious on what is right and what is wrong.

The 'Milgram Experiment' after the professor Stanley Milgram, was conducted in the early 60's at Yale. Controversially the results pointed to the fact that even under slightly related circumstances, we as Americans would have done the same thing as the German citizens during WWII and obeyed our government's orders despite them drastically violating our self morals, a significant percentage would actually be proud or excited to comply with such 'dirty' commands. For example, torture and kill. We would overcome our own morals and accomplish the objective no matter how horrible because we mentally trick ourselves into believing the outcome, no matter how disturbing, is okay. Reasoning to ourselves because our leading figured said it was and that he/she/they would take any repercussions.

Pretty confident the line in the chorus is

"who holds the SHELL will be Caeser"

in the first verse she sings

"it's the Lord of the flies all over again"

In the Golding novel LORD OF THE FLIES the boys decide that, as a rule, only one member of the group my be permitted to talk at any given time, and that person is the one holding the conch shell, which they find on the beach.

Therefore, whoever held the shell had the power to talk, while rest had to remain silent and listen to what was said. They ruled over the group, like an emperor (Claudius Casesar)

Disappointed that every lyric site seems to have copied one set of lyrics which are incorrect as it's key to the meaning of the song and it's title.

I'm also wondering if she says "hopers" rather than "hopeless," which kind of makes more sense when she says, "all you do is hope," right?

I mean, what's the point of hoping without action. If all you do is hope, you're giving yourself an excuse not to do anything about the things you think are wrong.

She's got some pretty intelligent allusions, I've got to admit! And Robyn is a great complement in this song!

In the chorus I hear "sing and the/then Caeser will fall" instead of "sing in the Caeser with force"

It's not "I thought robins could fly" "Whatever". It's "I thought robins could fly" "Et plus", meaning "and more" in french, which is why Coco says "huh?", because it's not english.
