Peacetime Resistance Lyrics
Feeling the comfort of eyes is your sole intention
We all wanna be understood unconditionally
But you have to realize that a viewer needs distance
And the moment your wall melts down the inside is outside
Maybe way back in the past, when people were different
Shortening bonds made them last
Now we emphasize our difference
We have been enrolled one by one for peacetime resistance
And we're fighting our battles alone
We've got four eyes, so why yearn for one perspective?
We've got colours with shades erased when blended
We've got four eyes, so why yearn for one perspective?
We've got colours, but they disappear when blended
We all wanna be understood unconditionally
But you have to realize that a viewer needs distance
And the moment your wall melts down the inside is outside
Shortening bonds made them last
Now we emphasize our difference
We have been enrolled one by one for peacetime resistance
And we're fighting our battles alone
We've got colours with shades erased when blended
We've got four eyes, so why yearn for one perspective?
We've got colours, but they disappear when blended

Sounds like someone wants to be the center of attention, and is pushy. (a viewer needs distance) And as soon as they are out of their comfort zone or seen for what they don't want to be seen for, they feel insecure. In the past, people were closer because they weren't together that much, but today, we can be together more, and when we spend together, we see how different we are from each other, which can lead to problems. People should be open-minded and see how similar we all are to each other.
This song could well be about Facebook and social media in general, which have made many of us exhibitionists and peeping toms at the same time.
"Maybe way back in the past, when people were different... Shortening bonds made them last... Now we emphasize our difference" may refer to the fact that despite the existance of social media and people worldwide being in touch 24/7, people have never been more lonely and individualistic.
The title 'peacetime resistance' and the lyric "And we're fighting our battles alone" I think refers to the thousands/millions of 'online petitions' out there, all being signed by individuals, comfortably sitting behind their computers, but rarely engaging in 'live' action...
