Greatest Love Lyrics

you just don't know
where the time goes
sitting there in your chair with the lamp on
walking late just to stay right on top of the landslide
you like to hide behind
waiting for peace of mind

and I just don't know
where the time goes
sitting here my career moving faster
writing songs that belong to my master
the greatest love
that I thought came from above
but have you moved on from my love

this is getting silly now
I have to walk away
I close the door behind me
and just look the other way
but you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
how hard it is

I know that I
always get by
filling time with the crimes I keep regretting
and hoping with enough time I'll be forgetting
the greatest love
'cause you never think of us
quite like I remember us

this is getting silly now
I have to walk away
I close the door behind me
and just look the other way
but you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
you don't know how hard
how hard it is

I hope I have interpreted it correctly. This song is heartbreaking, it does make me cry...

Wow! I just listened to this song for the first time and had to immediately come here. I'm listening to it again as I type. I cried for some reason while listening to it. The tears just washed upon me without me even noticing until I felt it drop from my eye. This is an absolutely beautiful song. I've never been in love, and I've never had a breakup or anything, but this song still hits a chord with me.
