Diggin' a Grave Lyrics

I'm diggin' a grave in the moonlight
I'm diggin' a grave where we lay
Hopin' the sun won't ever come up
And there'll be no compromise again

I'm diggin' a grave in the moonlight
I'm diggin' a grave where we lay
Hopin' the sun won't ever come up
And there'll be no compromise again

We're diggin' a grave in the moonlight
We're diggin' a grave where we lay
Hopin' the sun will never come up
And there'll be no compromise again

I love this song so so much, definitely one of my favourites. Tbh I don't really know what I think it's about, but I'm going to say that it's about someone who has been in a relationship but has broken up due to something (idk maybe an arguement, maybe cheating) and they're now "digging a grave", basically they're burying the relationship, or trying to forget about it because thinking about it might cause them too much pain. "Hoping the sun will never come up" Is like hoping that a new day won't arrive, because a new day coming could mean them 'waking up' from this idea of a perfect relationship. And finally "there'll be no compromise again." Almost gives you the impression that they won't be able to rekindle the relationship, and "again" suggests that they have already had to compromise over something before.
