Traveling lightly in your neighbor's yard
Burned out roman candle, calling cards
Someone forgot the golden rule
Let's go find another swimming pool

You're reading too deep into it. It's about pool hopping and someone ruining it by pissing in the pool. Hence, "someone forgot the GOLDEN rule, lets go find another swimming pool".

I'm pretty sure it's talking about The Golden Rule as in... treat others as you'd like to be treated...

...and not pee in their pool :) My friend Melissa's dad is a very successful salesman in south Florida. He was angered by a man from the country club who he felt had treated him poorly. He got slightly intoxicated one night; walked up to the man's doormat (of a mansion) and left behind a pile of poo. He did NOT follow the golden rule:)

Nah man you got it its about pool hoping "the golden rule" means no peeing in the pool.

"Traveling lightly in your neighbour's yard" anyways I guess at the end of the day it is a form of art and you have a right to interpret it as you please. Great to just enjoy the cool chill vibes this band brings.

A "roman candle" is a firework, and a "calling card" is like a signature that a criminal leaves behind to so that people know it was them and to taunt the police. So, I think that the burned out fireworks are their calling cards. The song is about kids pool hopping and partying in their neighbors' lawns, and they set off fireworks and leave them there as a calling card. "Someone forgot the golden rule" because they are treating their literal neighbors poorly, but "lets go find another swimming pool" suggests that, as young teenagers out to have some fun, they don't care and are going to continue their pool hopping. It's a song about the crazy, fun, irresponsible things they did as carefree teenagers :)

About a kid sneaking around with drugs/alcohol.

Burned out rolling candle = joint/blunt? Calling cards = drug dealer phone number? Someone forgot the golden one = Either leaving "evidence" or forgetting "The Golden Rule" Let's go find another swimming pool = going somewhere else to hide from parents

actually. i believe the line actually is

"Someone forgot the golden rule"

I'm not sure it's about drugs/alcohol, rather it's more (generally) about kids being mischievous by going out swimming in their neighbors' pools. The feel of the song seems of childish innocence - almost like they're telling a story (the guys have played together since high school, and the theme of the album is coated in nostalgia) about an earlier time that is of personal significance to the band members. Perhaps instead, Martin says 'roman candle' instead of 'rolling candle'; the 'calling cards' could be used for prank phone calls from public telephones. The 'golden one'...not sure yet,...

I agree with your correction. This fits what I've mentioned.
