Zombie Barricades Lyrics

Zombie barricades failing all around you.
Find the final cache, pray it be of value.
Black eyed phantoms dropping laser guided curses.
Backward secret messages disguised in pretty verses.

Bring back the P.M.R.C., I need that motivation.
What do I win? Satisfaction of being right?
Bring back the U.S.S.R., we need that motivation.
What can we win? Eternity of night?

Are you fucking kidding me? They are well protected.
Fry you from miles around. The lot of 'em infected.

Bring back the P.M.R.C., I need that motivation.
What do I win? Satisfaction of being right?
Bring back the U.S.S.R., we need that motivation.
What can we win? Eternity of night?

Your parents, your neighbors, your sister, your brother.
What can we win? Eternity of night?

Your parents, your neighbors, your sister, your brother.
Zombie barricades are failing all around you.

Bring back the P.M.R.C., I need some motivation.
What can I win? Satisfaction of being right?
Bring back the U.S.S.R., we need that motivation.
What do we win? Eternity of night?

Bring back the P.M.R.C., I need some motivation.
What can I win? Satisfaction of being right?
Bring back the U.S.S.R., we need that motivation.
What do we win? Eternity of night?

straight speculation here, but i think the Company Band mean to motivate people out of stagnation. not only mainstream musicians which seem like zombies to me. but also the rest of society. During the Cold War we were a very industrious and progressive people. Now in the global market we're just a slightly bigger fish in the pond. so let's bring back the PMRC or Parents Music Resource Center(which seems like a militant form of the PTA) and the USSR to bring us back onto our toes. I'm sure Putin would enjoy a challenge, lol.

My Opinion

We need that motivation.

jchvoid is right about the chorus & basically most of the song, but the first two verses are straight up about the Zombie Nazi house-map thingie in Call of Duty: World at War. And the PMRC was not a militant PTA. They were a dangerous censorship organization led by Tipper Gore, which tried to decide if music was appropriate for children (good art/bad art). Does the phrase "Parental Advisory: Explicit Lyrics" sound familiar? The PMRC tried to control media, just like in the USSR.

I kinda disagree. To me, it sounds like the song is about how people need to have enemies to justify their existence or obtain motivation. "Zombies" are kinda the end-all-be-all of enemies, as they represent a potential threat to all of humanity with their in-humanity, but, at the same time, they're the most ridiculous, as the very idea of the undead is not grounded in reality at all. Yet, there are some people who stock up on food and ammo in preparation of this so-called "zombie apocalypse."

The line "Backward secret messages disguised in pretty verses" kinda lends itself to the idea of these people searching desperately for an enemy where a person of sound mind wouldn't think to look.

"Your parents, your neighbors, your sister, your brother" indicates that they believe it could be anyone who could be a "zombie," or enemy.

The PMRC and the USSR mentioned in the chorus are both enemies that inspire fear, the USSR to a greater extent than the PMRC.

Just my two cents.
