North Meadow Lyrics

The breeze makes the trees wave and shout
North Meadow, four willow trees sprout

When the red-eyed sun comes yawning
Wakes the meadow, makes the morning
There starts another day
Nature lends her subtle bounty
Seasoning this rustic county
Cares are a world away

The breeze makes the trees wave and shout
North Meadow, four willow trees sprout

One small meadow, four tall willows
Murmur as the autumn wind blows
Summer was everything
Hanging by the minnowed river
Winter makes the willows shiver
Suddenly, there is spring

I’m actually not a huge fan of king crimson…they’re just too much for me. Like I just think of that solo in Starless or the vocals of 21st century schizoid man and am immediately overwhelmed. However, this song is shorter and less “progressive” which makes nice to put on. And if you want experimentation check out those solos—they don’t go on for 4 minutes but still give you that shock factor that makes their songs so interesting. Also, it’s too bad this song isn’t available on my music streaming service because I would love for it to come on unexpectedly once in a while instead of having to search it up all the time.
