Hurt More Later Lyrics

Conversation comes naturally
He holds your hand real carefully
Butterflies are fluttering
Your courage is sputtering
Cuz you never win

You're finally there
When your heart starts to wear
Cuz you know how this ends
Passion fades, you pretend
So you're walking away
To let perfection remain
You'll never see this unwind
Your love frozen in time

You try your best to take it slow
But it feels good to lose control
It's moving faster everyday
You wish it could just stay this way
But you know it won't

You're finally there
When your heart starts to wear
Cuz you know how this ends
Passion fades, you pretend
So you're walking away
To let perfection remain
You'll never see this unwind
Your love frozen in time

It hurts now but it will hurt more later
It hurts now but it will hurt more later
Hurt more later
Much more much later

I think its a little more than what the person above me posted..

The chorus makes me think it's about ending a relationship early because you're afraid of getting hurt; you've been in a good relationship that fell apart or got stale, you can't bare to do it again so you go off, fall in love too soon but leave before you become too vulnerable.

I totally agree! It will hurt now if you end it but if you prolong it and develop feelings only to still end it, it will much more later. It's like he knows it won't work out, and for the sake of saving his and the other person's feelings, he wants to end it before it gets so much worse. It's a horrible situation to have to be in, I know.

You love this person but that spark and passion just isnt really there anymore. You love them. But you're not IN love. And you dont wanna admit it cause you're good the way you are with them.
