I'm On Fire Lyrics
Hey little girl is your daddy home
Did he go away and leave you all alone
I got a bad desire
I'm on fire
Tell me now baby is he good to you
Can he do to you the things that I do
I can take you higher
I'm on fire
Sometimes its like someone took a knife baby
Edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
Through the middle of my soul
At night I wake up with the sheets soaking wet
And a freight train running through the
Middle of my head
Only you can cool my desire
I'm on fire
Did he go away and leave you all alone
I got a bad desire
I'm on fire
Can he do to you the things that I do
I can take you higher
I'm on fire
Edgy and dull and cut a six-inch valley
Through the middle of my soul
And a freight train running through the
Middle of my head
Only you can cool my desire
I'm on fire

I don't usually like remakes but Chromatics nailed it on this Springsteen song. Her voice is sublime here and gives a whole new direction to this (originally) masculine song.
Wow!
This makes my soul ache
In a literal sense, this song is sung from the POV of a pedophile who is molesting a little girl. He asks her if her dad is home, if he’s there protecting her. If not, he will come over because only she can give him what he needs, only she can fulfill his sexual desire because he’s on fire!
