Hammerhead Lyrics

Be-ee my ritua-al, be my one desire
Be my light, be my pure delight
Be my purifier-er
You'll never know what you do to me
Five times a day-ay
My self-destruction you'll over-see
Don't go, don't go away-ay

Just a touch of you, just a ta-aste
Like kissin' God is what we do-oo
Let's go to wa-aste
You'll never know what you do to me
So subli-ime
You're like the devil in heaven
Every, everytime

You've been hanging with the nicest people - a hammerhead
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead

Take the food from my mouth, take my sex
Take my friends, take my lover-ers
Here, take thi-i-is
You'll never know what you do to me
Maybe I'm wro-o-ong
Let's take this journey together
Please co-ome, please come alo-o-o-o-o-ong
Please co-ome, please come along

**You've been hanging with the nicest people - a hammerhead
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead

Oh-oh-oh

You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead (hammerhead)
You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead (hammerhead)
You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
**Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead (hammerhead)
You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead (hammerhead)
You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
Some silken slip of evil - a hammerhead (hammerhead)
You've been hanging with the nicest people
A hammerhea-ead (hammerhead)
Some silken slip of evil

Such a great song which addresses a major issue of the time. Heroin addiction. Hence the name hammerhead. It's about being seduced by the affect of "hammer" (heroin). Like a beautiful seductress the you want to spend your life journeying with but will ony lead to self destruction. Well that's my translation anyway. I love the song nonetheless.

This song is a clever disguise. At one level it can be seen as being about love. But it is really about heroin. The slang name in the 90s was 'hammer' Taken this way all the lyrics assume a very different meaning

Negative
Subjective
Sadness
Deception
Substance Abuse
