You Don't Know Me Lyrics
I'm a ghost of a girl that you looked right past
I'm a voice you didn't want to hear
I'm a page in a book that you read too fast
But I'm still here
You never cared, never tried, never even asked
Maybe I didn't want to say
You shut your eyes, told your lies
Then you had your laugh and that's okay
'Cause you don't know me
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
If you don't know me
I've got more on my mind than I ever told
I've got pain that you've never felt
I've got the scars, I can deal with it on my own
I've got stories that I'll never tell
But maybe it's just as well
'Cause you don't know me
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
If you don't know me
I'm strong, I'm a mess
Altogether an emotional wreck
I can scream, I can beg you to see I'm alive
I'm awake, I'm unglued
I'm not gonna break down now
'Cause you don't know me
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
'Cause you don't know me
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am
You don't understand just how I feel
'Cause you don't know me
I'm a voice you didn't want to hear
I'm a page in a book that you read too fast
But I'm still here
Maybe I didn't want to say
You shut your eyes, told your lies
Then you had your laugh and that's okay
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
If you don't know me
I've got pain that you've never felt
I've got the scars, I can deal with it on my own
I've got stories that I'll never tell
But maybe it's just as well
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
If you don't know me
Altogether an emotional wreck
I can scream, I can beg you to see I'm alive
I'm awake, I'm unglued
I'm not gonna break down now
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel
You don't want to know what's real
And I'm not sorry for who I am
You don't understand just how I feel
'Cause you don't know me

Love this song. so true. people judge way to quickly before they know anything about someone. truly, there is more to every person than what meets the eye.
i so agree it's in my words my theme song

I love this song (let's face it, I love all the songs on Allison Iraheta's album...it's just so goood!) If this is just the startings or the beginning of Allison writing/co-writing her songs, then I can't wait for the rest! I love the idea/concept of this song. In Allison's words, "Pre-judgement sucks". The song's self explanatory. Allison's singing to a person/people who keep judging her, without even truly knowing her. They keep making assumptions and judging too quickly when they don't know anything about her or her personal life. I love the line " 'Cause you don't know me. You don't know what's real. And I'm not sorry for who I am, for what I feel" !!
i definatly relate to this song a lot of people judge me without even knowing me and it's just telling them just because i'm weird i won't be sorry for how i am
