I Think I Can Lyrics

What's in the way? And
What's nice about staying on the same pace?
Want to, want to get on and stay on. What I
Guess I'm just doing makes me feel good.

So...

And I don't want, and I don't want
To keep myself from moving on anyways
And I know how too many tough times
Can ruin the day from good ways

[If I wanna, when I need to
You know I could just
Come back to it anyhow]

And I don't want, and I won't have
To keep myself from moving on anyways
And I know how too many tough times
Can ruin the day from good ways

[If I wanna, when I need to
You know I could just
Come back to it anyhow]

Can ruin the day from good ways

Will I get to move on soon?

(I try to stay in tune with what's happening)

I think I can, I think I can, I think I...

This song is absolutely amazing!!! If this is any indication of what Panda Bears next LP is going to sound like then we're really in for something special!

i think this song's just a general explanation of being stuck on something that you can't get over, (eg. girlfriend, parents, friendships) and then ultimately succeeding in getting rid of it because of you're repeated attempts > hence the end "i think i can i think i can i think i"

These are my opinions, so they are neither wrong or right. If you agree, thats sweet, if you disagree, let me your opinions, because I'd like to hear them. this song is what you hear when you get high. It's also metaphorical, (of course,) for kind of communication God attempts to have with people that are content with "staying in the same place" however, similar to "graze" we keep running from the true comfort that waits for us if we are willing to "get on and stay on" Instead, we keep on "com[ing] back to it anyhow" that's it for the first segement of the song. in the resolution of conflict segement of the song, it's simple encouragement. "try to say it. do it." i think i can, i think i can. the song is surrounded by the day to day, with an elevation into a dreamlike state, then at the conclusion of the song, release back into the day to day. great ep closer, and very indicative of future animal collective, shining redemtion from the merriweather post pavilion era/direction of the band. post SJ jam vocals still irk me. something artificial about one of the vocal effects that the mpp producer puts on both dave and noahs vocals. ces't la vie. magnificent ep. i won't leave comments on any of the other songs, but if anyone else hears "that's from this weed" by panda in the back ground of bleeding.. let me know.

I just got ahold of the new EP and for my first reactions to the song, I believe this is about trying to quit smoking weed and talking to someone who has recently quit or isn't ready to try it.

What's in your way? What's nice about staying on the same things, What you, what you, get on and stay on? Well I guess, I'm just doing, what makes me feel good.

^^^ This person is asking what is stopping him, what's good about staying on the same plane. To cope with the discomforting feedback the person he is asking is giving, he has to comfort himself with "Well I guess, I'm just doing, what makes me feel good.

[Even if I could, Even if I could, You know I would Just come back to it anyhow]

^^^ Even if he could quit smoking, he knows he would just go back to it anyhow.

And I don't want And I don't want To keep myself From good

And I know how Too many tough times You would

^^^ He doesn't want to hold himself back, no matter how bad it seems to other people. Maybe they just don't understand. To him, it is a good thing. He admits, it's a coping mechanism at times and he knows that his friend strayed away from smoking when things got tough.

Will I get to move on soon?

^^^ I'm unsure if this is the first person who asked the questions originally, asking when he will get to have another opportunity to smoke. He could also be asking when he will be able to leave the substance.

I think I can.

^^^ He'll be able to leave it one day.

i don't entirely know why, but the first 4 minutes or so of this song makes me want to cry.

My Opinion

^Being vague in interpretations is good. This song could honestly apply to any addiction, I guess. The parents comparison is REALLY interesting. This song does, as howzitgoing2end said, make the most sense when talking about smoking, but it can really be spun around anything. Right now, to me, it's about a girlfriend.

This sounds a lot like a song Panda Bear performed when I saw him. I believe he looped the "And I don't want And I don't want To keep myself From good" or one of the variations. But who knows. Anyways this and 'On A Highway' are my faves off of FBK.
