Soaked Lyrics

Soaked to the bone
Sink like a stone
Walk home alone
It's not the first time, it's not the worst crime
Your soul will be okay

When you've had enough
Searching for love
And you miss the touch
Of someone new

Burns by dreams
It's never how it seems
Cold crushed esteem
Take shelter and hide forever
Your soul will be okay

And you've had enough
Searching for love
But you miss the touch
Of someone new

Ooooohh
Ooooohh

And you've had enough
Searching for love
But I miss the touch
Of someone new

Soaked to the bone
Sink like a stone
I will take you home
It's not the first time, it's not the worst crime
Our souls will be okay

This sort of goes hand in hand with "Broken Open"; though, I suppose can be left up to the interpretation of the listener in-depth.

To me, the lyrics sound kind of like somebody going through their thoughts and trying to cope with feeling guilty for cheating (or having an itch to do that), possibly while being in an unsatisfying relationship and wanting to get out of it. ("It's not the worst crime...", + the whole chorus) Not claiming that this is in any way what the song is written about though. Just a thought I had.

My Opinion

I was surprised to discover that this song was actually written by Matthew Bellamy...the lead singer of Muse.

I am surprised that you are surprised about this, as it is the identical style of some of the songs from Muse's Resistance.

Man, you can totally tell this a beautiful product of Matt Bellamy. Adam did such a gorgeous job vocally, this is one of my faves on his album. (: The theatrical strings and guitars screams Muse undertones so I knew who the write/composer of this one was. But nevertheless it's amazing. =D Strangely enough, I can't get a clear interpretation of it but I'm addicted to it anyway.
