I Want A Forest Lyrics

There's blood in the sky, it bleeds from the land
Behind those eyes diamonds turn to sand
Such a beautiful fall, I saw the surface break
The water's so cold, your body shakes

On a stormy day the clouds move too fast to see the shapes they make
Or how they wrap our little world right up

I'm in your garden, but I want a forest
I'm in God's garden
I'll make it a forest
I'll make it a forest

You cut your ideas in your own way
The silly little plans, the games you play
You try to make me lose faith, we're all made that way
There's a diamond in the rough, there's a needle in the hay

On a stormy day the clouds move too fast to see the shapes they make
Or how they wrap our little world right up

I'm in your garden, but I want a forest
I'm in God's garden
I'll make it a forest
I'm in your garden, but I want a forest
I'm in God's garden
I'll make it a forest
I'll make it a forest

How the hell has no one commented on this? This song is so exquisite. It seems to be about how, no matter what we are given, we want more.

"I'm in God's Garden... I'll make it a forest." Even being it what some people who say was a perfect garden, he wants more.

The bit about the clouds is a similar thing, everything moves to fast to see how perfect it is. How it shapes our life.

I love this song.

Come on! You are only half right. This song is about wishing that your lover wern't that cultured - but more wild. And of cause about seing and facing the moment - the things that you might not see when you are too busy. Generally, a wish for a passionate love.

Ok a bit tired and spelling like a dork - but sure you'll get the jist of it...

"There's blood in the sky....such a beautiful fall..."I think this is about someone who is never satisfied with what they have...seeing only the negative and it has become their norm. "behind those eyes, diamonds turn to sand" again this person is taking what's precious and turning it into something ordinary. Probably criticizing a lot. They are always wanting more or better and is constantly searching for it. (there's a diamond in the rough, there's needle in the hay). But because they are so busy dwelling on what they don't have, they are missing the beauty which is right in front of them "on a stormy day the clouds move...." Nothing will ever be good enough for them, not even "God's garden" which is a metaphor for perfection in my opinion.
