I think he's talking about the best girlfriend he's ever had breaking up with him and he's regretting it and wants her back. He thinks he's found the girl for him, but doesn't know what to do because she's hurt him so badly. I can compare. I have the same problem ):
i think this song is about him being in love with an ex girlfriend still. he always messed up, and she forgave him. but now she wont, and he regrets messing up. it hurts him to hear they're song. now he is always thinking about her, waiting for a call from her, and is hearing things about her from other people. maybe she has a new boyfriend(?)
but i could be wrong.
He had an amazing girlfriend, who just had everything he could ask for. But it didn't work out. He hurts a lot over it, but she moved on obviously, and he hasn't yet.
