The singer has finally dreamt her ideal man, who seemed to only exist in fantasies, into life; and she's buried very deeply in that thought that she can't even remember her life before.
"Can hardly think what life was like before I had you by my side. Can't say what I'd do without you knowing what it's like to have you." - From this, it's clearly stated that they're together now.
Or maybe she over-fantasized about him that it affected her sense of imagination and reality. Maybe she thinks the perfect guy she has been dreaming of is finally next to her when he doesn't exist in reality. She is being consummated by her imagination of him and she knows it.

And either way she doesn't mind.

I have fallen in love with this song the first time I heard it. I was reading comments on "The show" by Lenka and someone wrote a comment that brought up the title of this song and I just knew I'd love it. It's like the i-know-i-love-you-before-i-met-you sort of feeling. :D
I didnt know little annie before i heard this song but i love it. There is something about it that is so sweet you know? It makes me think of day dreaming, maybe a girl dreaming about her boy. Or it could be about a little girl and her imaginary friend.
Yeah,this song kinda reminds me of a girl daydreaming about her boyfriend/lover,or a girl reading a book.Great song in my opinion.
