Onward We March

Brothers on the field,
Of battle wage,
An epic war against an unseen foe,
The urge,
To lay down and die in him,
Is stronger than it's been before.
No matter how grim,
Things may look in time,
These words echoed inside of him,
"You'll be just fine."
Grit your teeth my friend,
And show me,
That you can win this fight.
Win this fight!
On your feet now soldier,
This battles not done,
Take up arms once more my friend,
There's a war to be won.
Take a stand so firmly,
And chamber a round,
March forward and do not,
Let anything take you down.
You're not so weak that this would kill you,
I know you have more drive than this.
Now face your enemies and soldier march on,
Don't let this battle be your doom.
Over the hill they charge,
Bullets raining overhead,
Clashing against fellow men,
Wading knee deep in the dead.
Many lives are lost,
In the name of a pointless fight,
Treading on with one thought,
Not to win but to survive.
And as we march onward,
Keeping our heads up high,
We attempt to live like soldiers,
