From the first listen I thought this song was referring to sex toys.
I mean, they're the type of machines you keep hidden away in the drawer.
And that's amusing to me so I'll just keep thinking it.
That's what I thought too, I just kept it to myself cuz I thought maybe I was being too dirty minded. I thought A machines could be guns, having the A stand for Automatic and B machines were Battery operated, lol.

I thought this was about Plan A gun and the secret Plan B one that you have secretly.
Or used more figuratively. But the A and B referred to "plan a" and "plan b".
On the table- out in the open, easiest thing to get to, right in front of you in the drawer- hidden, but still there nonetheless.

There are two sentences in the song. Both lyrics are painfully ambiguous and in and of themselves don't say very much. To put it bluntly, his song probably isn't about anything.

To me this song is about putting your best stuff out in the open while the worse stuff is hidden (like in a drawer). So the message is just "be awesome". The music certainly helps convey that!
yeah I agree with owlhowlscowl...
Like in movies when someone says to drop your weapon and you put your gun down on the table as if that's all you were armed with... But you know you have a backup in the drawer next to you!
