This song intrigued the first time I heard it. Think: I'm a big fan of The Long Blondes, and the first phrase is "Only Lovers Left Alive", a great song performed by the (long blondes) band.

I did some search and found out that "Tonight you take a part of my life" can be talking about a song, not a girl. See:
