I Have Loved You Wrong Lyrics

forgive me lover
for I have sinned
for I have done you wrong

for I have hurt
beyond repair
when tears occurred
no I didn't care

forgive me lover
for I have sinned
for I have loved you wrong

but this estranged organ in my chest
still beats for you
it will not rest, so
meet me in our secret place
when the time has come

and rest your head
in my lap
and I'll lead you out of your own trap
and I'll show you how much
you have missed through the
time we weren't right

so forgive me lover
for I have sinned
for I have let you go

but you've been every now and then on my mind yeah
every now and then on my mind yeah
on my mind

This song is about being in a failing relationship then reaching a point whereby you accept everything that's wrong and turn that realisation into a good thing.

It is, very basically, about not showing or telling someone that you love them enough, realising it, and asking for forgiveness.

I adore this song...especially the "on my mind"s at the end...so hauntingly beautiful.

This song is so beautiful and honest. Letting someone go is a terribly hard thing to do, and Marketa reveals that in a very truthful and tender way. Amazing.

Fantastic comment. This song is such a good representative of ESOTSM.

Sometimes we take people for granted. We let routine and just..life I guess, get the best of us and forget just how important and special some people are in our lives. So we eventually let these people go, maybe too easily, and don't realize how much our actions hurt them and how much they might make it seem like you didn't care even though you did.

I think this song is realizing all of this and, after it's over, realizing you have wronged this person, that it's over, it didn't work out, but you still really care about them, and in some way you still love them.

But maybe that's putting my own experiences into it, I dunno.
