Someday When I Stop Loving You Lyrics

One foot on the bus about half past nine
I knew that you were leaving this time
I thought about laying down in its path
Thinking that you might get off for that
I remember that night we laid in bed
Naming all our kids that we hadn't had yet
One for your grandma and one for mine
Said we'd draw straws when it came time

I'll move on baby, just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need a moon
It'll hurt like hell but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you

I bet all I had on a thing called love
I guess in the end it wasn't enough
And it's hard to watch you leave right now
I'm gonna have to learn to let you go somehow
Somehow

I'll move on baby, just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need a moon
It'll hurt like hell but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you
Oh someday someday when I stop

I'll move on baby, just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need a moon
It'll hurt like hell but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you
Someday when I stop loving you

sad song! It makes me think of a boy and girl who have known each other since birth and they grow up and their love grows for each other as well but in the end it doesn't work out and the best thing for them to do is to leave.

Sad but beautiful song. It's about a breakup, and the girl is saying she's still in love with him, but hopefully some day she'll actually move on, but not just yet.

In the Chours: Instead of: It'll hurt like hell but I'll get through It's suppose to be: It'll break my heart but I'll get through.

Such a good song <3 Carries whole Cd is amazing!

I don't think this song has to be about a breakup, actually.

It's like this song speaks to me. Here's what meaning the song is to me:

One foot on the bus about half past nine I knew that you were leaving this time I thought about laying down in its path Thinking that you might get off for that

A long lost friend that you wish you could have back is moving. You knew her since you guys were kids, but she changed and drifted away from you. You wish you could somehow stop her from leaving... maybe 'laying down in the path of the bus, thinking she might get off for that...'

I remember that night we laid in bed Naming all our kids that we hadn't had yet One for your grandma and one for mine Said we'd draw straws when it came time

As best friends you'd lay in bed and just chat like the best of friends you two are. Talk about the future and the type of guys you'd want to marry, you'd talk about what names you'd name your kids. The chorus to me says, 'I'll move on just like you did, and hopefully someday I'll forget you and forget all that happened, maybe I'll find someone better.. maybe not... but someday I'll stop loving you, just not right now. (Because you can't get your friend off your mind, and you probably miss her...) Just my interpretation. :)

This song is about a breakup, and she's basically saying that even though it's over she'll never stop loving him. She sas "I'll move on when the the desert floods and the grass turns blue" The desert flooding and the grass turning blue are two things that are more then likely never gonna happen - therefore she'll never move on. And then she goes on to say "Someday when I stop loving you" basically saying that those impossible things will happen the equally impossibility of her stopping loving him happens.

Yeah... I don't care how great of friends you are, you just don't say 'naming all OUR kids WE hadn't had yet.' It implies that you're having the children TOGETHER, so yeah... not friendship. This is definitly about a breakup. But it's still an amazing song by an amazing person with an amazing voice who sings amazing songs.

yeah to me this song is about a breakup and even though the relationship is over, she will never stop loving him. and like you said this is an amazing song sung by an amazing person who has more than one amazing songs. and to me the song can help you get over any relationship even thoug hyou were in love with that person cause a lot of people has fallen in love and got their hearts broken.
