The Valley Lyrics

real heart-breaker come and take me
to the real heart ache that everyone's talking 'bout.
you see me then you don't
but get it right, i don't believe in magic.

fire kites drifting through the skies
up on high i see it all the time
and from the tip top of every mountain view
from the roof i spy on room to room.

take me home
i walk the night in the valley
oh ohh oh
'til everything is fine

i walked all night, and typically that's fine
but i might try sleeping for a bit.
tell me why you know the things you do
and how'd you get there?
to be there, it must be great for you.

take me home
i walk the night in the valley
oh ohh oh
'til everything is fine (x2)

i don't see everything as right
it's not right
i don't see everything as right and wrong
it's so wrong
but i don't see everything as wrong

take me home
i walk the night in the valley
oh ohh oh
'til everything is fine

take me home
i walk the night in the valley
oh ohh oh
'til everything is fine
'til everything is fine
'til everything is fine
'til everything is fine
'til everything is fine

I can't believe no one has commented on this song yet. I love the violin in it. It makes it a standout among Eisley's catalog. I loooove it.

Stacy's voice is getting better and better, sounding more mature but maintaining its softness. Brilliant vocals in this one. It makes us almost feel like we're walking in this wonderful scenario of theirs.

i'm so in love with stacy and her voice right now..and always haha. i love the Fire Kite EP and the line "fire kites drifting through the skies" is my favorite of this song, as well as the bridge that talks about thinking everything is right or wrong.

i think it's about not really feeling like we actually feel certain things. or maybe not being able to know whether we feel it or not. and then wanting to feel it. and also just wanting everything to be fine.

i agree that it makes me feel like i'm walking with them in this scenario and valley, seeing the kites through mountain top views and through windows of different rooms.

eisley<3 favorite band forever :D

The way I think of it is just that the speaker has had her heart broken and is going through a really terrible time, and she's so upset she can't sleep and goes for walks all night in the valley--and just her different feelings as she goes through this period of her life. Obviously everything is really bad, but she "doesn't see everything as wrong" because she can't bring herself to think that way. "How'd you get there, to be there, it must be great for you" could be directed at the person who broke her heart, or someone else who she feels is judging her for her situation.

Now that I write this out it sounds bland, but the feeling the song gives me is so complicated. I guess it's a simple idea but it feels so specific and intense.

My Interpretation

I think the valley is a metaphor for a low point in her life.

i don't she's literally walking in a valley, but it's symbolic. saying she's been in a really low point; and it's all mess now, but eventually she'll keep 'walking through the valley until everything is fine' i.e. she just rides out the problems, until it all sorts itself out.

"You see me then you don't but get it right, I don't believe in magic"

What great lines.

instead of "it's so wrong", it's "it's all wrong"
