I really enjoy this song. I wonder what really drove the Bones to make this song...

The lyrics are powerful, but beset by the droll underwhelming way they are delivered. The melody alternates between being a powerful staccato and a melodic phrase. Abstractly, the song strikes me as an expression of the raw power inherent in the feeling Sigmund Freud described as Thanatos: a desire or craving for destruction, chaos, and death. Afterward, the chorus chimes in, overwhelming this morbid desire with benevolence.

I'm sure there's more to it, I just don't know how to explain it. Like, the burning and breaking made me think of anarchy. :P

man, already a fan of Ryan Gosling, and even though I know there is another member to this band, still proves what a talent Gosling truly is.

pa pa power sounds like the beat of a drum or heart

please make me better we will not destroy you sounds like asking for help from the person with the power. but i think that might be my interpretation and not what they originally meant. but i bet the pa pa might be a heartbeat like love. and burn the street and broken glass is about how you feel after heartbreak!

my take on this song is, pa pa may be referencing to "Father" father power please make me better, a prayer? the world is on fire and in ruin according to burning streets and cars, broken glass and broken hearts, hurt and pain everywhere. a cry for help to a higher source. either God or Government. i think more towards God because of the Pa Pa
