MY KZ. UR BF Lyrics
Lucifer you're landing
Cross-hairs on the kitchen sink
Barb-wire in the
bathroom
I can't make new memories since
Flashbacks to the time
this
shell-shocked apartment was the place
i met with your boy
it's a mortal
thing, yeah it's a mortal thing
oh! he looked at me funny and a
oh! oh! think
our secret's out and a
oh-ooh-oh i try to explain
but then munitions rain,
and we're the epicentre
It's like I'm watching the A4 paper taking over the
guillotine,
It's like I'm watching the A4 paper taking over the
guillotine
And I wanna know what happened to your boyfriend
Cos he was
looking at me like "woah..!"
Yeah right before the kitchen was a dustbowl
And
tossing me the keys and I can't forget how
everything just coming through the
windows
and half the street was under my nails
it's like we sitting in the
Faraday cage,
when the lights all failed
i fly through the walls
all
pieces colliding and i
see raymond apart
he'a a frowning now, wagging a
finger at me
"boy!" his knees bend the other way and
"boy! boy!" are you guys
together honey?
"b..b..boy!" oh but now i can't find his torso, mmhmmhmm i
guess you're seperated ooh,
Monica i just wanna know...ooh
It's like I'm
watching the A4 paper taking over the guillotine,
[Monica I just wanna
know..]
It's like I'm watching the A4 paper taking over the guillotine
And
I wanna know what happened to your boyfriend
Cos he was looking at me like
"woah..!"
Yeah right before the kitchen was a dustbowl
And tossing me the
keys and I can't forget how
everything just coming through the windows
and

it's like we sitting in the Faraday
cage,
when the lights all failed
Lucifer you're landing (6 cars the
driveway oh i do believe it will be business inside)
Cross-hairs on the
kitchen sink (it's a real spanner into my works i think i kicked the
bucket)
Baby's on the bullseye (...do believe it will be business inside..)
I
can't make new memories since, ..ries since, ..ries since.
And I wanna know
what happened to your boyfriend

Yeah

and half the street was
under my nails
it's like we sitting in the Faraday cage,
when the lights all
failed
And now everybody gotta go hungry
and everybody cover up their
mouths
And I haven't seen the bodycount lately
but looking at your faces it
must have been bad
and if everybody answered thier phonecalls..
but people
say the army's on fire
it's like we sitting with our parachutes on
when the
airport's gone
Cross-hairs on the kitchen sink
Barb-wire in the
bathroom

In an interview, they say clearly the intention of the song is to juxtapose the TV drama style "He says, she says, he's checking her out, she's not interested, blah blah blah" self-importance with being inside a building as it's being bombed in a war field. My Killzone, Your Boyfriend. Their lives are in danger, but they're still all contentious and socially selfish.
The song starts out describing as a man is standing in a blown-out apartment (or pub according to their video). A flashback starts when the verse begins. The man remembers walking into an apartment (or pub) and seeing the girl he’s been with, but she’s with her boyfriend. (The man reflects during this flashback how minute such a thing is in the grand scheme of things, despite how important that moment seemed to him when it happened) A fight erupted and the boyfriend hits the man with a chair. Then an explosion occurs. A bomb goes off and blows everyone and everything through the windows of the apartment (or pub). The boyfriend who was fighting the man earlier pushes him away from the epicenter of the explosion, saving his life. In the catastrophe, their dispute no longer mattered. It was about then about life. The girl survives as well and throws the man the keys to his car as her boyfriend lays on the hood, severed with his knees broken the other way, dying. He sacrificed himself to save the man he was ready to kill just minutes before. All of a sudden, the disgustingly futile little dramatic problems of relationships become so minute. This song is about how teenagers of the Western world are so caught up in their relationships and personal drama, despite the atrocities happening across the world. The two worlds collide and the man realizes that it’s like he’s been living in a barricaded vault that has separated him from the rest of the world, and as he’s in there, the lights outside of this secure vault go out. The world is full of destruction and horror, and so many of us spend our time fighting over relationships and material goods. This song is about looking beyond yourself and your petty problems, because people are going hungry, suffering, and dying while you complain that your girlfriend cheated on you. The song ends with the man going back to what’s left of the apartment (or pub) and seeing things differently, seeing barbed wire in the bathroom, crosshairs on the kitchen sink. He hasn’t been able to make new memories since, because all he can think about are the destructive things and the bigger picture of human suffering. It’s a mortal thing to suffer and cause pain, but that doesn’t mean we should just ignore it as if it isn’t happening right outside our apartment window.
This is what I’ve gathered from listening to the song, watching the music video, and searching for any other sentence that exists that might shed light on the subject matter. Enjoy or debate. -ZombiesLoveHugs
This is awesome--thank you soo much for posting the lyrics on here. The only diff is I hear 'Melinda" instead of "Monica" but thats probably just my ears.
@danessa27 I know this is like six years late but 'monica' is from the show freinds

Ttlab, i think you were closer the first time.
I think… He lets himself in, meets the new bf, has an explosive fight, dies but doesn’t realise, then gauges peoples reaction.
i think he let himself into his ex's apartment (obviously now someone elses girlfriend), where he met her new boyfriend. he's clearly been seeing her again ('think the secrets out') the army references start with 'the munitions rain' and carry on to describe the ferociousness of the fight that breaks out. 'It's like I'm watching the A4 paper taking over the guillotine' i think this is a metaphor for how the tables have turned. he was the dominant figure for getting with the boyfriend's girlfriend, but now the boyfriend is beating the **** out of him. il admit thats, its a bit vague. kitchen dustbowl again describes how fierce the fight was. then the lines: 'everything just coming through the windows, and half the street was under my nails' either describes the same again or, and this is my preferred theory, that everything coming through the window is actually him being thrown through it, hence he ends up with pavement under his nails. He later mentions the cars in the driveway too. And the dead thing, I think that’s why Lucifer is mentioned. He says, I think ive kicked the bucket. Then everybody covers their mouths (in shock) and he thinks the body count is high because of the look on their faces, but their looking at him, a dead him.
Theres loads more, but I can’t write anymore. My writings bad enough! Feel free to disagree.
LOVE this song! Favourite new album of the year, along with The XX, and Foals new one.
Oh, I loved your interpretation Jhilbley, it really makes sense! English is not my first language, but I love English language and I always try to understand the words of a song, that is why I love when I find other people who also care about the importance of the lyrics.

I also agree with you about XX and Foals! They are my favorite in 2010. I am so glad that new bands still making me excited about music!

I heard them talking about the song with John Kennedy on XFM. It's actually about a group at a houseparty when the apocalypse strikes and yet the two guys are still arguing about one of them looking at the others girlfriend.
I think the clue to this song is the line:
'It's like I'm watching the A4 paper taking over the guillotine.'
Let's say the guillotine is the cutting off of the relationship, and the A4 paper is the people in it. Suddenly the reality of the people's lives becomes more important than what happens between them. Why 'A4'? This seems to deepen the contrast. 'Paper' has several possible meanings - newspaper, wallpaper, paperwork etc., but 'A4 paper' is just an everyday commodity, so a passive thing (peoples' lives) suddenly takes over from an active thing (the separation). 'It's like I'm watching...' shows the speaker overwhelmed by the experience, unable to describe it without sounding contradictory.
I like jhibley's 'Cover up their mouths' explanation, but the last verse seems to take us into a wider world ('Now they say the Army's on fire) which suggests that the 'munitions rain' is one terrorist incident in a campaign that gets worse for everybody ('I haven't seen the body count lately' etc.).
'sitting with our parachutes on when the airport's gone' relates to its choral partner 'sitting in a Faraday cage when the lights all failed' - an illusion of safety (a Faraday cage protects you from lightning/wearing a parachute) in a disaster (the lights all failed/the airport's gone) though I still can't tie either directly to the rest of the song.
I love this song, its very catchy! Although im not too sure what its meaning is... :/
No idea what this song means! But it's the most catchy thing in the world. I heard it on Xfm the other day and I can't stop listening.
This song is about infidelity.

My interpretation is that he entered his ex-girlfriend apartment using his own keys, he met her current boyfriend and they had an awful fight. He got beaten and passed out and can't remember what happened with the guy. He probably thinks he killed the man, that's why he mentions Lucifer's name, he thinks or he actually did something really evil, like separating his torso. I didn't understand the last strophe.
I saw EE on tv last night and I think they are one of my favorite bands :) Really impressive! Didn't know that "pop" (sorry if I am offending them) could be that good! I think they are the most pop alternative band that I have ever seen.
Just listened to it again and changed my mind! lol! They didn't have a fight. They were in the appartment when a catastrophe happened, something like an earthquake or other thing that destroyed the appartment. He survived but can't remember what happened to the boyfriend. That explains why the army and why many people died.

@ttlab I know this is like five years late but EE aren't just alternative pop. their music also counts as indie rock, art rock and electronic rock. :)
