Broken Statues Lyrics
Show me your hands,
let me wash them clean. X2
We all need this to be renewed,
after time and wear.
We're broken statues.
Vines intertwined around your insides.
Hold you down.
You beg for restoration.
Your best has crumbled,
from being so weathered.
We all deserve this,
to be renewed,
to change our ways,
to be allowed to choose.
So let me build you back up.
As you're carrying me too. X2
Show me your hands,
let me wash them clean.
Show me your heart,
and let me heal you.
We will mend statues from
the ground to the skies. X4
Show me your hands,
let me wash them clean.
Show me your heart,
and let me heal you.
We will mend statues from
the ground to the skies X2
let me wash them clean. X2

I think this song is just them telling you that its never too late to change. It doesnt matter how many mistakes you've made, or how much hate you've spread; "e all deserve this,to be renewed,to change our ways,to be allowed to choose." This band is great because they are extremely positive, but don't get all preachy. AND! they are absolutely incredible live! i saw them for the first time two weeks ago, and wow. they have some serious energy ha. But really, you have to love any band that straight forward tells you "So let me build you back up. As you're carrying me too. Show me your hands, let me wash them clean."
not really about Jesus, WCAR isn't a Christian band, just a GREAT band with a positive message. this song I THINK is just basically a song to people living in hate (aka the broken statues) and WCAR is telling them that they will teach them to not live in hate (aka mending statues from the ground to the skies). Great song, but Roads That Don't End and Views That Never Cease is my favorite.. it reminds me of my long distance relationship with my girl. anyways. GREAT BAND!
can't wait to see them in Seattle with ASD, and OM&M
Beautiful breakdowns. Gives me chills :)
The best part is they're not even religious or Christian yet they still have a positive message
There was an interview with one of the guitarists of this band that said some of the members are christians, some aren't. But they aren't a "Christian" band.

the first time you wrote "we will mend statues from the ground, to the skies" its actually "were broken statues, vines intertwined"
the key change at 2:35 is absolutely amazing. never gets old. amazing band
This is a few years overdue now (songs been out for a while) but I just wanted to share some of my thoughts from a perspective shift while listening to this song. There is a theme of planting a seed that grows into a tree in this album, you know what a broken statue is? A tree. You know what else a broken statue is? A human being. No matter how much mending and growing we do we will always be a broken statue. That doesn't mean that we will be broken humans. We weren't intended to be a statue. So we will be mending statues from the ground to the sky because the mending will never end, we will keep growing.
jesus? ha
