Reprise: ...And Then the Delusion Was One Lyrics

there's a jet lag on the riverbed
where my words are washed ashore
and the clouds fill with mud til you can't see the sun
til my words just scream "no more"
(at its seams the morning tore)

in the stillness of sacrifice
siphoned from fables unknown

there's a jet lag on the riverbed
where my words are washed ashore
and like fish they convulse, slowly losing their pulse
til they're picked off by the birds
(and it seems i mourn those born)

and i shout to the dead
in the deafening silence of life
as those indifferent eyes
look to skin me and burn me alive

they took him away
on the back of their bottomless hands
they told him to stay

This song is my favorite I think was based off girl Serj was in love with or something. In this song, the narrator falls in love with a girl, slips into a dream, and the girl becomes his alter ego. Also Lewis and the bassist really carry the dynamic of this song over Serj's composition and Benjamin's solo is really soulful and contrasts well with Serj's.
