Fix what’s wrong, but don’t rewrite what the artist wrote. Stick to the official released version — album booklet, label site, verified lyric video, etc. If you’re guessing, pause and double-check.
Respect the structure
Songs have rhythm. Pages do too. Leave line breaks where they belong. Don’t smash things together or add extra empty space just for looks.
Punctuation counts (but vibe-editing doesn’t)
Correct typos? Yes. Re-punctuating a whole verse because it ‘looks better’? Probably not. Keep capitalization and punctuation close to the official source.
Don’t mix versions
If you’re editing the explicit version, keep it explicit. If it’s the clean version, keep it clean. No mashups.
Let the lyrics be lyrics
This isn’t the place for interpretations, memories, stories, or trivia — that’s what comments are for. Keep metadata, translations, and bracketed stage directions out unless they’re officially part of the song.
Edit lightly
If two lines are wrong… fix the two lines. No need to bulldoze the whole page. Think ‘surgical,’ not ‘remix.’
When in doubt, ask the crowd
Not sure what they’re singing in that fuzzy bridge? Drop a question in the comments and let the music nerds swarm. Someone always knows.
I have to somewhat agree and disagree with the second comment.
I think that "2.0" is a reference to band feeling like it's been reborn and its like the second version of the band.
The lyrics kind of back that up, the lyrics can be taken in many ways, you see hundreds of bands that sound like Blessthefall break up every day, and it's amazing that BTF havent yet.
I would hate for anyone to say that any of the lyrics on the album are anti-Craig.
Both Craig and BTF have said multiple times that they are still on good terms despite the nature of Craigs departure from the band.
This song is directed at Craig leaving the band, "2.0" meaning they've gotten better than when Craig was their screamer, "We're not dead, we're not like you said" should be self-explainable.
Agreed with the first comment this Intro blew me away.
Well I wasn't going to buy "Witness" but, BTF just blew me away with thhis album..
I would recomend buying this album to everyone, its worth the money
:)
and TheRiseOfTroy is absolutely correct
:)
and i think Beau does a great job as BTF's frontman
:)
i think the lyrics are more the band trying to say their proud they havn't fallen apart. i don't think it's a dig at Craig, but i do think they feel reborn hense 2.0
i think a lot of people expected them to quit. but they came back. thats what 2.0 is.
I think its about when Craig left everyone thought they were over with or "dead" but they're not "dead like you said"!!!! They're back with this new album, which is why its the first song.
