Q&A

Locking Elizabeth Lyrics

I’ve got a secret family
No one will ever know
Under the meek and narrow
A faded funeral

Bury the weeping widow under a sleepy halo

Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Show me it will do nothing for you
Show me your weakness (show me your weakness)
Knowing that I would lay down for you
Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Surely you’re with us (surely you’re with us)
Knowing it will do nothing for you

Trusted the hated harrow
Cross twice to curse this crime
Wish me a simple death you’re
Locking Elizabeth

Bury the weeping widow under a sleepy halo

Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Show me it will do nothing for you
Show me your weakness (show me your weakness)
Knowing that I would lay down for you
Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Surely you’re with us (surely you’re with us)
Knowing it will do nothing for you
Show me a witness
Show me a witness, show me a witness

You knew, you knew
Your turn to burn
Deprived inside,
Your fabricated life
Comes truth in time
Your basement full of lies
How does it feel…

It’s real
I feel

Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Show me it will do nothing for you
Show me your weakness (show me your weakness)
Knowing that I would lay down for you
Show me a witness (show me a witness)
Surely you’re with us (surely you’re with us)
Knowing it will do nothing for you
Show me a witness
Show me a witness, show me a witness

Show me a window.

Well, in an interview I remember her saying that this song was based off a girl who lived in Australia and had lived in a basement and was raped by her own father. And she bore her own siblings.

Actually it was in Austria, and the song is about Josef Fritzl from his daughter Elizabeths perspective.
