Bourgeois Shangri-La Lyrics
Vacation and barbecue
Small talking and nothing to do
Keep you locked in a shopping cart
A Bourgeois Shangri-La
Got a feeling that I don't belong
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away
Talking shit about the neighbor wife
But when she comes, you put on a big smile
Like to throw up in her gucci bag
She's coming in to brag
Got a feeling that I don't belong
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away
A house and a boat and a gray, shiny car
Things just to prove you've come far
Soda streamer, watching TV, cute little dog
Perfect in your shallow bourgeois
Shangri-La
Got a feeling that I don't belong
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away
Small talking and nothing to do
Keep you locked in a shopping cart
A Bourgeois Shangri-La
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away
But when she comes, you put on a big smile
Like to throw up in her gucci bag
She's coming in to brag
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away
Things just to prove you've come far
Soda streamer, watching TV, cute little dog
Perfect in your shallow bourgeois
Shangri-La
Got a feeling that I shouldn't be here
Can't stand another single day
I gotta get away

I definitely have a feeling this song is about being trapped in some snotty suburb, and having to get out so that you're head doesn't explode into a million little shreds.
I think the title of the song is basially refering to some kind of Capitalist heaven.
Miss Li is talking about the kind of people who's lives revolve around wealth and material goods. Sodastreamers, gucci bags and grey shiny cars. They use these possessions to show off to other people about 'how far they've got' when actually all they're doing is buying into a Capitalist way of life.
The irony that this was an iPod song is great.
