Sometimes we fall down and can't get back up
We're hiding behind skin that's too tough
How come we don't say I love you enough
'Til it's too late, it's not too late

Our hearts are hungry for a food that won't come
And we could make a feast from these crumbs
And we're all staring down the barrel of a gun
So if your life flashed before you, what would you wish you would've done

Yeah gotta start
Looking at the hands of the time we've been given here
This is all we got then we gotta start thinkin' it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying oh

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we're dying oh

Well if your plane fell out of the skies
Who would you call with your last goodbye
Should be so careful who we left out of our lives
So when we long for absolution, there'll be no one on the line

Yeah we gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given here
This all we got then we gotta start thinkin' it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying oh

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we're dying

Like we're dying oh
Like we're dying
Like we're dying oh
Like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we're dying oh

You never know a good thing until it's gone
You never see a crash until it's head on
Why we think we're right when we're dead wrong,
You never know a good thing 'til it's gone

Yeah we gotta start lookin' at the hands of the time we've been given here
This all we got and we gotta start thinkin' it
Every second counts on a clock that's tickin'
Gotta live like we're dying oh

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we're dying

Like we're dying oh
Like we're dying
Like we're dying oh
Like we're dying

We only got 86 400 seconds in a day
To turn it all around or to throw it all away
Gotta tell 'em that we love 'em while we got the chance to say,
Gotta live like we're dying oh

It's about living in the moment. We decide what to do with the time that's given to us. You want to make sure you've spent every 86,400 seconds doing something meaningful. Like telling someone you love them,

"How come we don't say 'I love you' enough Till it's to late, it's not too late"

    Amazing

This song's basically about chances. Sometimes because of heartbreaks from the past, you don't dare break out and tell your next crush/love that you like him/her. But noone knows when your life's gonna end. Let's say you're in an aeroplane and the plane crashes. Your life could be gone just like that. So this song is about living like you're dying, to do all that you genuinely wanna do when you have only 24h in a day. 24h = 1440min = 86 400s.

So hurry up tell those you love that you really love them before it's too late and then regrets will start pouring in. Don't worry about what the consequence will be. Even if it's another heartbreak, you know that you've tried so that's what that matters. After that, carry on finding your true love!

Kris Allen published his cover to a song that the original artists hadn't even published yet!!! The Script hurried to publish THEIR song after they found out that a "cover" had already been published of it! AND THEY SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME!!!!! Grrrrrr and what's worse I even bought Kris Allen's version on iTunes! XD To make up for it I bought a whole album from The Script, haha. They're actually really good!

Bleh and Adam Lambert has what like two completely original albums out already? In my mind Adam Lambert will always be 2009's American Idol <3<3<3

I love this song! It's so catchy and sort of gets me more motivated to finish my work! The lyrics are pretty explanatory...basically it's about taking chances and living like it's your last day.

I think Kris's version of this song is great. It's really similar to The Script's version but I think considering how quickly his album is being put together and how obscure the song is it's forgivable.

The meaning of the song is pretty straightforward and fits with Kris perfectly as far as what he believes in religiously, his career, and his attitude towards life in general--I think this'll be a great kickoff for him and hopefully a hit.

I hate this song because it reminds me of fags from american idol which are fags. This song means that he has to come out of the closet because he has AIDS. He is living like he is dying because HIV is eating up his immune system. He had lots of sex with that gay american idol host ryan seacrest and as we know gay sex leads to AIDS. This is why Ryan can't be a judge because if the coke glasses on the judge table got switched and someone drank out of his glass that person would get AIDS. Seacrest Out is his catchy way of letting people know he is gay without saying he is gay. I sincerely hope this Kris guy goes away soon because his gay fag music is invading my adult contemporary station. Elton John and Coldplay are enough gayness on the adult contemporary music scene.

Techno Ted
Audioslave
Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Dreamwalker
Silent Planet
I think much like another song “Anti-Matter” (that's also on the same album as this song), this one is also is inspired by a horrifying van crash the band experienced on Nov 3, 2022. This, much like the other track, sounds like it's an extension what they shared while huddled in the wreckage, as they helped frontman Garrett Russell stem the bleeding from his head wound while he was under the temporary effects of a concussion. The track speaks of where the mind goes at the most desperate & desolate of times, when it just about slips away to all but disconnect itself, and the aftermath.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.
