Whole Lotta' Losing Lyrics

Well I've got a lot, lord, I've got a lot of losing,
friends and heroes packing up and moving,
One of these days I'll be left with nothing but memories and old time

And I better get accustomed, cause I've got a lot, lord, I got a lot of losing by and by.

We never got paid but we had a lot of laughs,
Running like thieves through the streets of Chicago
Look at me I'm leaning out apartment windows singing "I still miss someone"

And I better get accustomed, cause I've got a lot, lord, I got a lot of losing by and by.

Picking up speed, picking up the pieces,
Losing leaves in every season,
The winter ends right at my feet with flowers peeping up through a crack in the concrete

And I better get accustomed, cause I've got a lot, lord, I got a lot of losing by and by.

The losin' leaves in every season part makes me smile because it makes me think of Loose Leaves, by Bright Eyes, and it is truly amazing following the evolution of Conor.. I'm not sure if anyone can take his place in my heart. No homo

Love the "flowers peeping up through a crack in the concrete" part. This whole album is really good, but this is the catchiest song on here.

"I Still Miss Someone" is a song that Johnny Cash wrote with his brother-in-law, Roy Cash. He first recorded it in 1958 on the album The Fabulous Johnny Cash, his first Columbia Records release.

Cash later recorded the song as a duet with Bob Dylan; although this version was never included on an album, Dylan regularly performed it in concert.

Pretty cool little shout out to the Man in Black. M. Ward has talked about Johnny Cash being one of his influences.
