After One Quarter Of A Revolution Lyrics

Cleaned up a mess I'm in, now I am born again.
Naked, spotless motion without strings.
I've flushed the filth to the sea, the limbs and sharp debris but if that water rises woe is me.
Hearts aren't beating their counting down.
Breaths aren't stolen they're groomed and given out.
The closet is teeming with broken bones.
I'll be driven out and swallowed whole.

I walk a crooked mile with the devil on my back puppeteering, schemes with every step.
But I once could walk through walls and drift above it all,
Pursing endless love to endless depths.

Hearts aren't beating they're counting down.
Breathes aren't stolen they're groomed and given out.
The closet is teeming with broken bones.
I'll be driven out swallowed whole.

Object all you want but I am not done with you.
Lives will be lost. Children will grieve.
Entire nations will crumble and blood run deep, but we will be redeemed.
You and I will be weightless.
We'll stay unborn so death can't start the clock and love can sleep through our pores.

The end is so... so... so... epic. (Epic is overused, but it's the only word I can think of to describe this.)

Oh, and Keith Buckley confirmed on Twitter Pete Wentz is the one screaming "Hearts aren't beating, they're counting down."

i've been listening to this song for ages and couldn't pick it out, and if you listen to pete scream on carpal tunnel of love, it sounds nothing like that, guess he dug deep.

This has to be the most intense song on the album.

I agree with supernatural that the ending is epic. I love the "Object all you want but I am not done with you." part

I'm pretty sure it's

"Pursuing endless love to endless depths"

not 'pursing'.

Its about how everyone dies.. He's saying at the end that its better to never be borned and not have to worry about death and heart ache life is pain. death is the release

it's about life after drug addiction, in my opinion... I think the whole album is themed after that in general. Drugs.

it's about them getting rid of ratboy(drummer), apparently he was creating a bad atmosphere in the band. I spoke to andy at a show and he said ratboy would refuse to play certain songs(depressionista) and was just a bit of a downer in general.

justfuckingtouchme is right, Keith said it was about "ratboy drama" and hooking back up with people who he had relationships with because of ratboy.

correction. he said ratboy drama, rather ratboy's girlfriend's drama.
