I think this song is bashing singers like Lady Gaga, Brittany Spears, Miley Cyrus, etc., who aren't really "artists", but cash cows. I also think they're bashing gold diggers.

I think it's about famous people who take advantage of their fans and pretend to genuinely care about making music, when they only truly care about making money. Could be wrong though.
Oops, I thought this was ditch the rest. Well this song is equally as good. I think it's hinting at mainstream trends such as emo and subsequently attacking it for being plastic and fake.

Also, her Crumpets are a group of girls whose characters have messed up histories, like cannibalistic tendencies, and they're all from an insane asylum.
