Good News Lyrics

So if you came back now
I'd go from low to high
Despite the circum-stan-ces
I'd apologise

I'd tell the baker
He does a pretty good job
And share the good news

I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost
I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost

I'd steal a tin of red paint
And make a ten foot heart
In the laneway
Outside your house at dark

I'd shout the tradesmen
At the bar
And share the good news

I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost
I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost
You wouldn't tell me and I think that hurts the most
I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost

But if you stay away
I don't know what I'll do
I'd probably fix my bed
And save a spot for you

I'd comb my hair (comb your hair)
And shine my shoes
And share the good news

I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost
I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost
You wouldn't tell me and I think that hurts the most
I could be standing on the shadow of your ghost

But if you stay away I don't know what I'll do I'd probably fix my bed And save a spot for you

such a sweet love song

No it's not. It's a love song but this guy is clingy. There's nothing "romantic" about that.

I think it is a love song, hense the line 'But if you stay away I don't know what I'll do I'd probably fix my bed And save a spot for you'

excpet the writer is someone who wants a lover they wrong, hense the line 'So if you came back now' and 'I'd apologise'

It's not a love song.

It's a just been dumped song. The song is about how much he'd change and all the great things he'd do to get his girl back.

Standing on the shadow of your ghost refers to that you could walk the same roads, go to the same places as your ex but no longer ever really share anything but their ghost.

This is what Berkfinger said on Triple J when asked about the song. Not a love song...

This song is catchy, but's it's disturbing. There's no indication of what happened beforehand so we don't know who wronged whom. Yet he says, "Besides the circumstances, I'd apologize." For what? And if it was her fault, why would you be apologizing?

Lets not forget that he's willing to do all the "Romantic Comedy" things to prove his love like shout it to the world, paint a 10 foot heart in her driveway. I don't know about you but if someone did that for me, I'd get a restraining order immediately!
