I've had moments like this. To help explain it, at least from my perspective, it's kind of just a state of mind you're in that does the writing from your subconscious. More specifically, if I'm feeling really emotional, but have been, say, awake far longer than I should have been and am running on a second-wind high, I'll start writing incessantly. One giant flow of idea fueled by my subconscious, processed by emotion as my conscious self takes the back seat and lets my natural mechanics do the work. It just comes out automatically as you seemingly zone out.

i've listened to this album 3 times so far and it is starting to grow on me. in absentia meets stupid dream. anyone?
I don't agree, I think that both in absentia and stupid dream have a more bright and pop-like sound while the incident is darker and creepier and not as easy to listen as stupid dream. I love the incident and porcupine tree and all of steve's works

It's about going to one of those bars, that you find trickled all over every city. Filled with underage teens and people who always think they know best. You've seen it a thousand times and you know it won't be any different this time. But you don't care, it's barely a flicker of what's to come. You're out to get drunk and have fun, so you get in there and go nuts. You dance around like a stick in the wind, you talk like an idiot. You laugh at all big new charlatans! While they simply sneer at you.
It makes sad out of a happy song.
