Jilly Armeen Lyrics
Taking sides, planning a trip.
No place like home, if only I could afford it.
Ticket to ride, connected by the hip.
Surviving on the dabs of the dust in the pocket.
Four minute mile, dressing down by your friend
You haven't seen in a while, all comes to a head.
With just one smile, to say what is said.
She's light as a feather, I'm heavier than lead.
You're useless to me Jilly Armeen.
Last time I ever sing a song for them
Using you under pseudonym, never again.
You always went for my friends and not for me.
Deep cuts and shards of glass.
Broken bones in plaster cast.
Hand on the shoulder, he starts to laugh.
You don't hear planes when you live under the flight-path.
You're useless to me Jilly Armeen.
Last time I ever sing a song for them
Using you under pseudonym, never again.
You always went for my friends and not for me.

I think "Jilly Armeen" is actually a pseudonym, too. To me it sounds a bit like "Jill, you are mean".
I reckon this song is about cocaine. "Last time I ever sing a song for them Using you under pseudonym, never again" to me means, 'Im not singing about cocaine, to the fans, under code name ever again'. Also, ''Surviving on the dabs of the dust in the pocket.'' is another clue.
Love this song off the new album. I think the meaning is pretty straight forward; unrequited love. beautiful song.
I don't understand what he means about:
"Last time I ever sing a song for them Using you under pseudonym, never again"
Explain?
I think it is saying that he sang and wrote songs about her using a pseudonym, but not this time. It is serious, so he is using her first name.

I think he's basically saying that he's not going to waste any more time on this girl, whover 'Jilly Armeen' really is, and this is his way of telling her that he's finished worrying about her

@spiderdom I think Jilly Armeen could be an anagram- and the name Emily fits into it. Maybe Jilly Armeen is the person he is singing about in 'Emily's Heart'?

real name, I mean.
Obviously the lines about the pseudonym mean that he's never gonna write another song for girls that reject him (for "them") using the name "Jilly Armeen" instead of the real girls' names. Thus, this invented "Jilly Armeen" pseudonym is useless now, since he'd reached the decision not to write any more unrequited love songs.
No clue regarding the verses' meaning, though.
