A Moment Of Peace Lyrics
I was six years her elder
She had yet to give herself away
Just moved from Jersey to Hell's Kitchen
Thirty-ninth just west of Broadway
Selling my soul in customer service
Dressing the wealthy
And fighting the urge
To tell them all just how i feel
Don't know what to say
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin built up from sin
In a moment of peace and beauty
Black skirt, red ribbon for detail
Fit and fill the lace so generously
Contrast of her pale flesh and darkness
Crucifix floated on her chest
Wanted me to notice her
Under the spell of a Springsteen record
Darkness in the spirit of '77
Needle cracks that vinyl tone
Don't know what to say
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin built up from sin
In a moment of peace and beauty
In a moment of peace and beauty
She lived by the bible
Drank until all hell broke loose
And the pale blue (warmthru?) made a fine silhouette
Gave away her composition
Don't know what to say
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin build up from sin
In a moment of peace and beauty
Oh in a moment of peace and beauty
She had yet to give herself away
Just moved from Jersey to Hell's Kitchen
Thirty-ninth just west of Broadway
Dressing the wealthy
And fighting the urge
To tell them all just how i feel
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin built up from sin
Fit and fill the lace so generously
Contrast of her pale flesh and darkness
Crucifix floated on her chest
Wanted me to notice her
Darkness in the spirit of '77
Needle cracks that vinyl tone
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin built up from sin
In a moment of peace and beauty
Drank until all hell broke loose
And the pale blue (warmthru?) made a fine silhouette
Gave away her composition
To keep this hunger away
To shed the skin build up from sin
Oh in a moment of peace and beauty

I think it's "And the pale blue warm threw me a fine silhouette." Possibly "pale blue warmth."
Gorgeous song.
I think it's: "And the pale blue worn-through made a fine silhouette" because I think he's refering to either a night gown or something similar where he can see through it to "her composition" below. That entire stanza is spent describing the woman in the song, IMO.

I could be wrong, but I think it may be, "she lived by the bottle." Kind of makes more sense to me, but who knows. Love the song, gorgeous. Jarrod is THE best.
