Hard Believer Lyrics

So you ask for my opinion well what is there to say
To be honest and just foolish won’t make you want to stay
You’ve got to go on and get moving and I can’t do that for you
Got so many plans and so much you want to do

Love is tough, time is rough
On me

Well I see you’ve got your bible your delusion imagery
Well I don’t need your eternity or your meaning to feel free
I just live because I love to and that’s enough you see
So don’t come preach about morality that’s just human sense to me

Love is tough, time is rough
On me

And it’s one life and it’s this life and it’s beautiful

Love is tough, time is rough
On me

I don't think this song is directed to a boyfriend or any one person in particular. I think it's just anyone who is overly religious and preachy about it. The person speaking is either an atheist or a secularist, and they wish to live life because they love to, not because they feel like they need to dedicate all their time to some nosy control-freak up in the sky. :)

It hurts, because I relate to these lyrics so much. I pretty much cried when I first heard this song, and it still gives me chills because I'm going through exactly what she's singing about. I adore this band.

It's just about an atheist/agnostic relating with life - people who are religious and preachy want to say that atheists can't enjoy/love life and this song is showing quite rightly that everyone can. This is just about life

I think this song is about a lover/boyfriend leaving. Maybe he has plans for his future and doesn't see her in them, or she doesn't want to go along with them. He asks what she thinks but it really doesn't matter to him and he is gonna leave anyways.

Lyric Correction

It's a silly girl to scoff at the notion of eternity when it's offered; or anyone for that matter. Quite easy though when in youth, old age and deteriorating health seem like a distant land. I'd rather accept loving and wise limitations with allowances for my imperfections and have more than the boneyard to look forward to. The delusion is on you sweetheart; if only you could see what's really going on.
