Humannequin Lyrics

(and i will)
be there when you get home
and i will be there when you become all you hate
all you hate when you become
you have to see the floor
you have to see the floor before you
you can see the angels are reaching
cross all the t's dot the i's this is your life
the contract expires when you die
you need to see the bottom of every barrel to know
maybe i was wrong to look in to all the eyes of all of my demons
i would rather stare right back into the eyes of the devil
to find my own face
being alone being alone never felt so good cause i found you
maybe time was wrong (time was wrong)
maybe time was wrong (time heals nothing)
we can all be alone, all alone, all alone
we can all be alone but we will still have you
maybe i'll become all that i hate
maybe i'll become maybe i'll become all i hate
maybe (i'll) become (you)

he will pull all of us out

I get the feeling this is the steps of a divorce or a teenage break up, "(and i will) be there when you get home and i will be there when you become all you hate" The "talk" of their ending relationship.

"you have to see the floor you have to see the floor before you", not being able to look your partner in the eyes as they go their separate ways.

"you can see the angels are reaching, cross all the t's dot the i's this is your life, the contract expires when you die" or till death do us part? This is what gives me the feeling its a ending marriage.

"you need to see the bottom of every barrel to know, maybe i was wrong to look in to all the eyes of all of my demons, i would rather stare right back into the eyes of the devil, to find my own face" The person left hanging from the ending marriage. They see now that they were the catalyst that ruined the relationship and he/she hates themselves for it.

"being alone being alone never felt so good cause I found you" This line really throws me for a loop. Maybe he/she found god, or substance abuse, or maybe another person to fall for again.

"maybe time was wrong (time was wrong), maybe time was wrong (time heals nothing) we can all be alone, all alone, all alone we can all be alone but we will still have you" This makes me feel that even though the person still feels hurt over the relationship and they will never forget that pain But either religious beliefs or the substance of choice has helped them cope somehow, or at least fill that void.

The last few lines I cant make heads or tails, but that is my big ole opinion about this amazing song.

first post! yay. ^_^

What i mean to say is they they formed to sing and spread the word of God and Jesus Christ so why would they talk about a stupid break up with a girl or something like that

Christian bands don't just sing about God and Jesus Christ.....they also sing about things like break ups and love and all that because they sing about real life problems that even they go through CharmanderIsEvolving is wrong in my opinion. When he sings "and i will be there when you get home/and i will be there when you become all you hate/all you hate when you become/you have to see the floor you have to see the floor before you/you can see the angels are reaching" i think is saying more that you have to fall before you can rise again...

I think this is pretty right on. I was thinking the same thing you were about the "being alone.." part i got that theory from a Barlow Girl song i forget the name at the moment but it sends the same message.

This may be a simplistic way too look at it, but I think it has to do with someone watching someone they care about turn their back on god, or let their morals slide away from them.

Just because they are a Christian band does not mean that they wouldn't write songs about break-us. Christian bands do entire albums about relationships (Relient K FANSD and Anberlin DITWLIAP). Christians go through break-ups, just the same as everyone else. It always still hurts. This song is about a relationship where a girl left, and he is realizing that sometimes we have to hit rock bottom to come back to God. And that even when it hurts, God is still there. The whole beginning is him trying to figure things out in his mind after deciding that no matter what, he still loves this person. But in the end God will let stuff happen to us that sucks, and we need to put our trust in him.

WRONG!

there a christian band why would they talk about break ups.

They never said they were a christian band. Look it up. here is what the bassist said about it: "Most of us are Christians. I think the label “Christian Band” is more related to marketing and sales than it does an actual belief in something. You see so much of this “We’re a Christian band, this and that” sort of thing, and you just don’t know what people are like outside of that setting. You can be Christian as you want to be on stage, but off-stage, it’s a whole different ball game with people. I think before you say anything like...
