Heartbeat Radio Lyrics

Tell me what you think about this song
Sue me if you reckon it's too long
I wanna know how you really feel
Tell me what you think this is funny
Spending all my time and my money
Trying to find how you really feel

The radio's perfect pitch makes me nauseous
Oh
The dimwits are digging a ditch on my heartbeat radio

Tell me what's the deal with the static
FM has become automatic
I wanna know did the DJ drown
In a sea of reverb and compression, oh
Wait til you hear the refrain
On my heartbeat radio

My darling waves can be replaced
But I will remember you
I'd sell my soul
Payola dole
Still I'm not receiving you

Tell me why you're changing the station
What comes after heavy rotation
I wanna know am I coming through
I wanna know what I've done to you
You're wearing out my favorite song
And everyone else's oh
Nothing but sad honky tonk on my heartbeat ratio

My darling waves can be replaced
But I will remember you
I've sold my soul
Payola dole
Still I'm not receiving you

Tell me what you think about this song
Tell me what you think about--

We laugh and cry but don't ask why
My poor heart still beats for you
Oh my heartbeat radio

My darling waves can be replaced
But I will remember you
I'd sell my soul
Payola dole
Still I'm not receiving you

On my heartbeat radio

god, this song is SO good. sondre's new album is amazing. well, about the meaning, i think sondre talks about a relationship that isn't going well, but he still loves the girl. i think it's pretty clear in the song. although, i don't know what is "payola dole". can someone answer me :x? oh, and everytime i listen to the song, i hear "you're running out my favorite song", and not "you're wearing out my favorite song", i think the way i listen makes much more sense...

@katelung Personally I hear "You're wearing out my favorite song", and I think it makes sense. "Wearing out" the song means having to hear it so many times that it seems old to you, which reduces the song's appeal even though you still actually like it.

@haphaphappy i paid more attention to the "wearing out my favorite song" part and you are correct, i'm sorry :P i think i got the meaning of the expression in the wrong way (i'm not native english speaker), thanks for the correction!

katelung, payola is the practice of record labels going to radio stations and offering money or other incentives to play songs from artists on their label.

strykerchick, i always heard "payola dole" as "pay all the dough" but if payola is an actual word, neat! and if it involves bribery - even better! oh, do you know what the dole part means? or is it just part of the expression? i'm just curious, fantastic song, in any case! thanks for getting the lyrics up :D

If you ever manage to make your way back to this reply, 'dole' is an actual word too, it means to hand out or distribute. :)
