Techno Ted may be a person who caused Chris incredible emotional pain & trepidation as well as moments of peace & happiness but now is removed and awaiting his fate. Darling may be a different person who is also free of him and can live her life free of Ted's tyranny. "In between all the laughing, and daydreams ... lies: a desert of truth" Lies are like a desert or the omission of Truth: Where there were Lies then Truth was absent. The song, "Techno Ted", may be a cathartic celebration of the downfall of this person.
Everybody needs inspiration
Everybody needs a song
A beautiful melody
When the night's so long
'Cause there is no guarantee
That this life is easy
Yeah, when my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when I, I
I look at you
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
When I look at you, I see forgiveness
I see the truth
You love me for who I am
Like the stars hold the moon
Right there where they belong
And I know I'm not alone
Yeah, when my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when I, I
I look at you
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
You appear just like a dream to me
Just like Kaleidoscope colors that
Cover me, all I need
Every breath that I breathe
Don't you know you're beautiful?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
I look at you
You appear just like a dream
To me
Everybody needs a song
A beautiful melody
When the night's so long
'Cause there is no guarantee
That this life is easy
Yeah, when my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when I, I
I look at you
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
When I look at you, I see forgiveness
I see the truth
You love me for who I am
Like the stars hold the moon
Right there where they belong
And I know I'm not alone
Yeah, when my world is falling apart
When there's no light to break up the dark
That's when I, I
I look at you
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
You appear just like a dream to me
Just like Kaleidoscope colors that
Cover me, all I need
Every breath that I breathe
Don't you know you're beautiful?
Yeah, yeah, yeah
When the waves
Are flooding the shore and I can't
Find my way home anymore
That's when I, I
I look at you
I look at you
You appear just like a dream
To me

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve.
The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future.
Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere"
The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version.
Great version of a great song,
I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

“Head > Heels” is a track that aims to capture what it feels like to experience romance that exceeds expectations. Ed Sheeran dedicates his album outro to a lover who has blessed him with a unique experience that he seeks to describe through the song’s nuanced lyrics.
So my girlfriend made me listen to this the other day. Not bad. Never was too fond of Miley Cyrus but I'll give her props on this. Plus this song reminds my girlfriend of me, so yeah, thumbs up for that

oops
third stanza:

when my world is falling apart
when there's no light to tear up the dark
First off, your grammar sucks. So you should probably go back to first grade. Second, I'll post it when I get to it and if you don't like that then POST IT YOURSELF. You can do that, you know.
My grammar sucks? Is that because I didn't capitalize everything? Because that's not grammar darling ;]
And seeing as they don't really teach you grammar in first grade YOUR ARGUMENT IS INVALID.
I probably could've posted it myself, but I don't know how and I have too much of a live to figure it out boo.
in the beginning its everybody needs a song not a soul (or is it? im not too sure one some lyrics its song and others its soul). when the nights so long not alone. when my world is falling apart not when I water sprouting apart. When theres no light to break up the dark not When theres no light to break up The Darkness.
How can you not love this song!
Sorry, but when you posted water sprouting apart, I literally laughed out loud.
btw this song is actually amazing this made me like Miley a lot I'm excited for her new album and I've never liked her musically before
ikr!!!! this is like the only song i like by her tho.. i kinda like the climb but they played it too much on the radio and such.
While some of the lyrics above are wrong................
I would still like to say: this song is beautiful. I don't know who Miley has hired to write her songs (Billy Ray maybe?), but in my opinion, the ballads are great. I have never really been a fan of "slow jams", but this song is great, and the video is great too.
I think this song is about, what many of these teenage artists sing about, an inspirational boyfriend or something like that. When she is lost, she finds comfort in the sight of her companion and that gives her inspiration.
Good song. Keep it up Miley.
First place i've actually found the right lyrics. Thank you! :D Personally i think if miley wrote this song herself, it is probably about her father. But at the same time it sort of sounds like a religious song as well. I'm not sure, but it's lovely (:
Call my dumb..but how does it sound religious? Lol :) xx
This song kinda sounds familiar, what do you think? I feel like I've heard this same tune somewhere..but, can't think of where.. especially the intro - sounds really similar to something..
Help me think of the song that sounds like this Miley Cyrus song.
it sounds similar to the intro of Running up that Hill by Placebo. similar, but not the same.
Keep Holding On - Avril Lavigne perhaps?
Miley singing "when there's no light to break up the dark" sounds similar to Avril singing "there's no other way when it comes to the truth" to me.
yeah it sounds familiar to me to
the begining reminds me of the twilight movies, same kinda tune
actually this song was written for her to sing, I think shes the one who wrote it but it's for the book/ movie "The Last Song" that she has a role in. The book is amazing I can't wait till the movie in April
This is actually a great song and her voice is really good and unique.
I can't help but think of only one thing through this entire song. God. and it sounds like the Hillsong United praise song "Mighty to Save" in the beginning which goes, "Everyone needs compassion A love that's never failing..." and the piano intro sort of sounds like it..
It just sounds more like a praise/worship song than a song about teenage love ...a little deeper maybe..?
I definitely agree. The fist thing I thought of was God... how even when my world is shaking He still stands and I am still in His hands.
This is one of my favourite songs! When I first heard it, I fell in love with it. And I can't wait to see the movie!
