If that's the way you love
You've got to learn so much
If that's the way you say goodbye

And this is how it ends
And I'm alright within
Never going to see me cry
Cause I've cried

So go on, go on and break my heart
I'll be okay
There's nothing you can do to me
That's ever going to burn me

So go on, go on and leave my love
Out on the street
I'm fearless
Better believe I'm fearless, fearless

So oh woh oh woh oh

If this is how it hurts
It couldn't get much worse
If this is how it feels to fall

Then that's the way it is
We live with what we miss
We learn to build another wall
Till it falls

So go on, go on and break my heart
I'll be okay
There's nothing you can do to me
That's ever going to burn me

So go on, go on and leave my love
Out on the street
I'm fearless
Better believe I'm fearless, fearless

So oh woh oh woh

If it's between love and losing
To never have known the feeling
And I still side with love

And if I end up lonely
At least I will be there knowing
I believe in love

Go on, go on break my heart
I'll be okay
I'm fearless
Better believe I'm fearless, fearless

Go on, go on and break my heart
I'll be okay
There's nothing you can do to me
That's ever going to burn me

So go on, go on and leave my love
Out on the street
I'm fearless
Better believe I'm fearless

So oh woh oh

So go on and leave my love
Go on and leave my love
Go on and leave my love
Better believe I'm fearless, fearless

its about a person leaving so abruptly from the relationship so than she sayin "go on and break my heart i'll be okay there's nothing you can do to me that's ever gonna bury me" like she isn't gonna stop the person from leaving and its not gonna break her. she completely fearless of feeling pain

throughout her journey with this person she comes to grip that even if she is hurting she wouldn't change anything that happened because has discovered LOVE. thats the most important thing

    this is just my opinion

this song is soo beautiful. i have recently become a huge fan of Colbie, and this is one of my favorites of hers.

i think it's about a girl who is really hurt because the one she loves has just ended the relationship, but she also realizes that there is someone out there that is better for her, and that just because one relationship ended it's not the end of the world. it's going to take a lot of time, but she'll be ok.

    amazing song<3

I guess this is a song about a guy who's leaving the girl. I reckon the guy didn't treat the girl like how usual couples would do. He ended the relationship so abruptly leaving the girl in tears.

But she's on the verge of recovering from her heartache because she's fearless, she isn't afraid of anything. She hasn't lost her faith in love because she knows love exists.

She's sure one day she'll find her true love and also that she will still stand firm even if te guy leaves her because there's nothing he can do to her that'll break her down.

she's basically telling him at the beginning of the song if that's how he loves, he has so much to learn.. because he probably treated her bad. she wouldn't have taken any of their relationship back.her hearts broken.

Great song. I agree, it's obviously about a break up. But its almost like she realizes that he isn't worth it and that it will just take her some time to get over him. She realizes that he didn't treat her right and she's moving on and going to be stronger when she gets through it.

This is such a great song. I can really relate to it. The guy I was seeing just disappeared on me. No explanation or anything. Colbie Caillat's songs have helped me in so many ways!

I believe that the person she was with treated her very badly, then up and left her, and she's explaining that she'll be okay, nothing is going to break her because she's fearless. its about moving on and dealing with the heartache for a long time to come, but she'll be ok. then finally when she finds someone else, shes explaining that you "build another wall" but it will fall eventually to another heartbreak. but she wont give up on love because she felt it at one point, she knows its real, so shed rather feel it then never knew it existed.

Classic love story true to his western tx roots. One of my favorites as a story, but I think there are alot of songs that are amazing not even listed on this site. I guess I should figure out how to add them, because I have about 8 REK cd's.

This song is def a twin to "Unfair" (a song she has been quoted as saying is about falling in love with someone who is already in a relationship) so it is presumably about the same person. Given the references to buying an apartment and not being able to see her love interest "after tonight," it's most likely that she's moving away and she'll "wait a day to break the bad news" (i.e. notifying him that she's leaving once she's already gone). And, of course, the fact that she sees in him a fellow "idealist" and "dreamer" (terms commonly given to people with the INFP personality on the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)) portends that she'll always be left wondering if they would've been perfect together.

Both as a standalone and as part of the DSOTS album, you can take this lyric as read. As a matter of public record, Jourgensen's drug intake was legendary even in the 1980s. By the late 90s, in his own words, he was grappling with massive addiction issues and had lost almost everything: friends, spouse, money and had nearly died more than once. "Dark Side of the Spoon" is a both funny & sad title for an album made by a musical genius who was losing the plot; and this song is a message to his fans & friends saying he knows it. It's painful to listen to so I'm glad the "Keith Richards of industrial metals" wised up and cleaned up. Well done sir.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

The Night We Met
Lord Huron
This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines: "Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet" So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other: "I had all and then most of you" Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart "Some and now none of you" Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship. This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
