Convinced of the Hex Lyrics

She submits and she donates
She gets out of her head
And she talks to the ceiling
You can hear what she said

She said
That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
You see, that's the difference between us

She said I like your theory
But it won't pass no tests
Watch the watcher
Get shot in the chest

That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
You see, that's the difference between us

She said (can't understand) of some system
That controls and effects
I believe in nothing
And you're convinced of the hex
I believe in nothing
And you're convinced of the hex

That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
That's the difference between us
You see, that's the difference between us

Some of the lyrics may be transcribed incorrectly. I believe some lines go like this:

1: She submits as she dominates 12: Watching the watcher 18: She said, 'You think there's some system' 19: That controls and affects

The song describes a relationship in which the woman is agnostic and rejects the man's religious beliefs, which she refers to pejoratively as a "hex." She observes that there is no evidence for his religion; for example, we see no divine intervention when a person is killed. I.e., his religion [theory, another pejorative recasting of terms] don't pass no tests watching the watcher get shot in the chest.

The music is fantastic. It made me wonder how I'd missed out on this band before.

@rikdad The first 4 lines saying completely the opposite, she talks to the ceiling (she prays) thinking god is in the sky or something, but then she begins to be agnostic about it all! so is there a woman and a man, or two women maybe! or is it a self-analysing look?
