Different (Anything at All) Lyrics
(Oh
Oh)
Everything is different
Everything has taken its toll
Everyone around me crowds in
But we all feel alone
Everything is so hard
The walls are closing in on my soul
I wish I could get back to that time
Me and you, Jackson Road
After all the years that I've seen fade away
All the good times gone to waste
I'd give anything, anything at all
To get back to all the roads we never paved
All those night down by the lake
I'd give anything, anything at all
And I said, (Oh oh) Anything at all
And I said, (Oh oh) Anything at all
Just another sunrise
Crowded by a city losing hope
It's time I said goodbye
To the phony smiles and the puppet shows
Everything we held tight
In the end, forced to let it go
I wish I could get back to your breath
All the little things let go
After all the years that I've seen fade away
All the good times gone to waste
I'd give anything, anything at all
To get back to all the roads we never paved
All those night down by the lake
I'd give anything, anything at all
No, no, anything at all (anything)
Oh, I'd give anything at all (anything)
No, no, anything at all (anything)
Everything is different
Everything has taken its toll
Everyone around me crowds in
But we all feel alone
Everything is so hard

let me start off by saying that i adore green river ordinance . and this song? SO catchy ! i think the lyrics are pretty self explanatory... just about a guy wanted to go back in time to everything that was so good in his life (with his girlfriend?). he doesnt like the changes, and everyone pretending that nothing has changed. <3
I agree, I think this song is about a guy wishing things would go back to the way they used to be. He knows everything's changed, but everyone else acts like it's all the same. It's a great song

I just happened to hear this come up on my iTunes when it was on shuffle and it just hit me how much I can relate to this song. Leaving for college in two days, seeing my former friends leave, missing summer nights two years ago...it's all incapsulated in that song. So good.
