This song is based off the novel/film "American Psycho". It's one of my favorite tracks on the album. Many of the lines in the song won't be understood unless you have at least watched the movie. The title itself is a quote from Patrick Bateman. :)
In the digital booklet they say it's based off of "American Psycho" and "Loathing in Las Vegas" I believe :) I love this song. It's amazing!! xD
both the title ('i have to go return some videotapes') and the line 'dont confuse "mergers, acquisitions"/when what I really mean is "murders, executions"' are directly related to the book/movie- but you wouldn't recognize the second without some knowledge of the book. i thought that was pretty cool; they're clever in the references they make, but they're plain enough you can still catch them.
