Taking Time For All the Wrong Things Lyrics

Hey now, your voice is getting tired from screaming over wind,
Hoarse now, we can't even mouth the words,
That will one day save us from ourselves,
The nights are getting colder and the ground is frozen at my feet,
Your eyes once kept me from living in this shadow.

There was a time that I was not afraid,
Today is the day we send this wind away.

Why won't the air clear up our problems, it picks its way through our bodies,
No hope, no faith, just the same old mistakes,
That hollow out my body, hollow out my dreams of you,
No hope, no faith, do you really understand,
How far we've made it? The clouds come rolling in,
No hope, no faith, the sun goes down below,
No hope, no faith, and here comes the shadow.

There was a time that I was not afraid,
Today is the day we send this wind away.

Sounds like he says "your lies what's kept me from living in this shadow"

That's what I had it as at first, but after listening more I definitely think it's eyes.

does anyone know what this song is about?? i cant figure it out, i know there's some connection between the wind mentioned in the first verse and in the chorus, and also the shadow mentioned in both verses, but i cant figure out the meaning..

To start, this song is beautiful.

As a human, it is like a slap in the face that doesn't hurt at all.

As a Christian, it hurts a lot.

This what I usually think when listening to this song: The shadow seems to be guilt...and the wind seems to be our willingness to try and disguise our flaws and justify what we've done. We do what what we feel and when it doesn't feel right, we try and move on, but we carry it with us. There are things we just have to let go of and give to something else.

This probably didn't help you at all. Keep in mind, I'm 19 and don't know crap yet.

My Interpretation

To me, it sounds like maybe an arugement or a fight (physical), and they (DGD or one of the many bands he has been in or a girlfriend keep fighting instead of letting it go.. think about it "taking time for all the wrong things"

These lyrics are interesting. No hope and no faith is pathetic. You have to have hope and faith in others. Otherwise people become unredeemable. Then of course it gives you the excuse to crucify them and that makes everyone concerned feel so much better doesn't it? I think taking time for all the wrong things sometimes has to be done if your being persecuted.

jonny craigs lyrics are retarded. but his voice makes up for the lack of intelligence in his lyrics. but this has to be my favorite song : )

My Opinion

Theres actually quite a bit of complex themes underneath the skin of them, you just have to look for it.
