Dying In Africa Lyrics

(cover of "Dying in Africa" by Nicholas Makelberge)

Someone I loved turned me down
I didn't feel my head touch the ground.

Someone I loved said goodbye
I never knew someone could make me cry
like this.

And I, I won't get over you
even if they're dying in Africa.
And I, I can't get over you
even if they're crying in Africa.

And everything that you say,
It will be held against you now.
And everything that I did,
Yes, it depended on you.
It did.

Love feels so sweet when you're rejected,
even if they're dying in Africa.
And I, I can't get over you
even if they're crying in Africa.

Someone I loved turned me down
Roll with the punches
and come back down.

Love feels so sweet when you're rejected,
even if they're dying in Africa.
And I, I can't get over you
even if they're crying in Africa,
dying in Africa.

I never knew someone could make me cry
like this.

Cover art for Dying In Africa lyrics by Sally Shapiro

This such a beautiful song. There isn't really anything to interpret. Just how much love means to you, especially when you can't have what you want, in a world full of arguably much more important things.

Love this version and the original, but would have never heard it if it weren't for Sally! x

P.S. I can't tell if it is "You said depended on you" or "Yes it depended on you"
