Set The Sails Lyrics
You decide to be alone
And hell it's cold enough to hibernate
So let it drift into the snow
It's where she chooses how to operate
Might be time to pack her in
Set the sails and just get hauled away
Maybe east or something
West was overrated anyway
The storm's coming down
These old walls are wearing thin
There's an ache to this town
And something's gotta give
If we're digging for gold
And coming up dry
Just a matter of time
Just a matter of time
And hell it's cold enough to hibernate
So let it drift into the snow
It's where she chooses how to operate
Set the sails and just get hauled away
Maybe east or something
West was overrated anyway
These old walls are wearing thin
There's an ache to this town
And something's gotta give
And coming up dry
Just a matter of time
Just a matter of time

End of a relationship. Accepting that its a "matter of time" until the relationship collapses, when they should "pack it in" and leave what remains of the cold relationship. Fairly straightforward lyrics, but sung with so much emotion and meaning. The piano complements the crumbled aspect of the song as well.
I was wondering... To me it always sounded like: "And something's gotta given in When digging for gold" The way it is written sounds kind of odd to me...
