Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen Lyrics

Theres too many cooks in the kitchen
Theres too many minds on the job
Theres too many cooks in the kitchen
Everybody wants a piece of the action
Cooking the books and getting their fractions wrong

What we need is law and order
Everybody knows
Cant have chiefs without the injuns
Stepping on their toes

Theres too many cooks in the kitchen
Theres too many daps in the pie
Theres too many cooks in the kitchen
Everybody needs a place in the rat race
Playing games of power, its only a cat chase

Too many too many too many etc.
Too many cooks in the kitchen

Too many cooks in the kitchen....comes from the phrase "Too many cooks spoil the soup" meaning that letting too many people in on a problem or project causes more problems. "Too many cooks in the kitchen, too many minds on the job". A person should be a leader of their own life and not rely on the decision-making of others. When everyone gets involved the whole thing becomes a clusterfuck. Keep your friends & family out of your business and stand on your own two feet or everyone gets involved because "Everybody wants a piece of the action cooking the books and getting their fractions wrong". Too many people involved and they come to all kinds of bizarre conclusions with little knowledge. Everyone starts "playing games of power" and they mess up the situation permanently. Basically, this song is saying, be a strong enough person to handle your own business. This would be a good song for small town people who have their noses in everyone else's business. People who spend lots of time in other people's lives are trying to avoid dealing with their own.
